Cosplay Ted Talk

I recently watched a Ted talk about cosplay. The speaker was Adam Savage one of the hosts of Myth busters. The topic was about how clothing expresses who we are and who we want to be. He talked about how cosplay is an expressive narrative of what we want to be or who we want to be. He used a few slides that were mostly pictures of him as a kid dressed up in costumes he made himself. The other slides he used was reference pictures of what he was talking about for his costumes or other people in cosplay. It was pretty effective strategy to keep people’s attention as well as to be comical. However it also helped displaying his points. There were no real questions asked in this presentation, he mostly went over how he came to love cosplay and why he enjoys it. Humor was used throughout the presentation, he expressed his points though comical slides or he told stories he experienced. The pacing was quite excellent, it didn't feel rushed or to slow. It went along smoothly without feeli...

IPA's and Their Systems

Smart phones are a constant stable item we use in our day to day life. There are many brands like Apple, Samsung, Android phones etc. A few come with a IPA , or a intelligent personal assistant. Some examples of this are Amazon's Alexa, Microsoft's Cortana, Google, or Apple's Siri. The one i think that could use a bit of a tune up out of the IPA's is Siri. Siri stands as a weak link out of the personal assistant's. Siri is limited to what terms it can respond to because of the fact that it does not use a search engine to help with their knowledge database. This issue could be fixed if Apple came up with their own search engine but i think its a bit to late in the game for them to do so. Google has quite the stable in the search engine market. Microsoft even has bing however not many use it as much as Google's. Siri has a few other issues as well but the main flaw with it is that it has a hard time understanding commands compared to other IPA's. If Apple coul...

Marketing Of Tesla and Unknown Worlds Entertainment

Social Media is used by many different companies these days. There are two companies i am going to compare, which are Unknown Worlds Entertainment and Tesla. Tesla is a renown energy storage company that also makes electric vehicles. They use social media for a number of things. For instance they use it to advertise their products, promote what accomplishments they are making in their industry. Tesla target audience for their products are the general public as well as other companies that want to buy their electric semi-trucks. Tesla bridges their relationships with their customers by communicating using social media via Facebook, twitter, blogging or emailing the customers directly. To keep themselves relevant Tesla marketed towards higher income families their their vehicles. Once they established themselves enough they started to do lower priced cars to target lower income families. They also sell directly to the customer using self owned showrooms. Their website allows you to cu...
